Toronto (December 18, 2018) – Julia Ouellette, Board Chair of the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto Canada (MOCA), has announced the resignation of Heidi Reitmaier as Executive Director & CEO effective January 25, 2019. “The new vision for MOCA has finally been brought to life”, said Ms. Ouellette. “We thank Heidi for her work and wish her well.”
“The successful opening of MOCA will always be a career highlight for me, and I know that MOCA will continue to grow and flourish.”, said Ms. Reitmaier. “I look forward to contributing further to building great museum experiences in this city.”
MOCA’s senior management team of November Paynter and Rachel Hilton will assume joint leadership of the museum as Artistic Director and Managing Director, respectively.
November Paynter joined MOCA in January 2017 from her position as Associate Director of Research and Programs at SALT, Istanbul and Ankara. Her curatorial work includes projects for Grazer Kunstverein, Graz; Tate Modern, London; Philadelphia Museum, Philadelphia; Artists Space, New York and the Asia Pacific Triennial, Brisbane.
Rachel Hilton joined MOCA in March 2018.
