Toronto Biennial Release of Report

In Blog

On 17 April 2010, the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art and The Power Plant held a one-day symposium entitled From the Ground Up: A Biennial Platform for International Contemporary Art in Toronto. Over 270 people attended the event and a lively discussion about the potential for a major recurring contemporary art event in Toronto ensued.

We are pleased to announce the release of the report by independent critic and curator Peggy Gale on the proceedings, followed by a recommendation by the organizers. This report can be downloaded from the websites of MOCCA and The Power Plant.

We will announce in the coming weeks the date of a follow-up meeting at which time the leadership group will put forth for public discussion several potential models for what such an event in Toronto could look like.
