MOCCA Launches the MOCCA app!
TORONTO, Ontario, June 22, 2012 – The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA) is pleased to announce the launch of our new, free downloadable MOCCA App. Beginning today, this distinctively unique smartphone application is available for download from the Apple App Store for iPhone/iPad, the Android Market, and for use as a mobile web app.
Designed to enhance the onsite and virtual experience of our visitors, the MOCCA App is packed full of information, images, and videos about MOCCA’s primary exhibition program as well as the award-winning National Gallery of Canada at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art partnership. The MOCCA App also features a mobile web-based artist project by Tasman Richardson, the first in a series of virtual artist projects commissioned by MOCCA.
In order to complement and leverage the potential of the new MOCCA App, MOCCA’s website now features an interactive portal that integrates all our social media platforms.
The MOCCA App was developed by Idéeclic (Gatineau, Québec), one of Canada’s foremost firms in the development of digital outreach activities, using the innovative inSitu Solutions content management system. The creative idea and design for the MOCCA App was provided by Josh Day and Caitlin Keeley of Cossette (Toronto), a leading integrated communications agency.
The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art acknowledges the support of the Government of Ontario, through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport and its Museum and Technology Fund program. Additional support for the MOCCA app was provided by the National Gallery of Canada, and Cisco Canada.
