February 3 – March 11, 2007
Art and Cold Cash connects contemporary art to discourses surrounding money with works in video and drawing, created by a five-member artist collective. Exhibitions in public galleries across Canada will be linked to related exhibitions in the airports at each location. A special selection of work will also tour to small airports in the Arctic settlements of Baker Lake, Rankin Inlet and Iqaluit where no galleries exist. The exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art is paired with an exhibition in the newly completed Terminal 1 at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
With work by the Art and Cold Cash collective: Ruby Arngna’naaq, Jack Butler, Sheila Butler, Patrick Mahon, William Noah and by invitation Myra Kukiiyaut
Supported by Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, University of Western Ontario, The Hamlet of Baker Lake, Nunavut, The Jessie Oonark Centre, and Heli-Max Helicopter Company and Cumberland Resources.
